Daedalian Glass Studios Founder, Davia Walmsley discovered a slightly worn, antique stone dragonfish sculpture and made a mould. She then spent many hours reworking this mould, fixing the shape and fine detailing ready to be cast in lead-crystal glass.

Daedalian Glass Studios creates bespoke cast lead crystal designs as per our clients artistic requirements. Designs can be backed with silver or metal leaf.

Cast Glass

• Casting is a process that involves molten glass being directed into a mould to solidify into a desired shape. At Daedalian Glass Studios, the majority of cast glass is created by melting the glass in a kiln and directing it into either a plaster mould or a sand mould. This process allows for extremely intricate designs to be created and reproduced on the surface of the glass.
• Cast glass is also sometimes referred to as kiln cast glass (kiln casting), plaster cast glass (plaster casting), or sand cast glass (sand casting).
